PSHE Vision Statement

At New Mill Infant School and New Mill Junior School we are teaching abroad PSHE curriculum that allows children to access a wide variety of experiences beyond the academic environment, as well as developing their skills and talents outside of classroom learning.

Our PSHE curriculum allows children to develop and explore issues which are both local and global. We aim to ensure that pupils feel they have opportunities to develop confidence, resilience, assertiveness and reflective skills. By ensuring that we are teaching a robust PSHE curriculum including SRE we aim to have a positive impact on the pupil’s wellbeing and safety.

Pupils are encouraged to discuss the various ways to keep themselves safe and healthy both mentally and physically. We aim to increase pupil’s roles in school which allow them to get involved with the school community. By doing this pupils understand how to make a positive contributions to society, feel as though their opinions matter and are always respectful and welcoming of others and their opinions.
