Music Vision Statement
At New Mill Schools we believe that music enriches both our individual pupils and our whole school community whilst raising aspirations and academic success. We provide every child in our school access to high-quality musical learning.
We follow the National Music Curriculum ensuring every child learns to play, sing, compose, appreciate and perform music in engaging, inspiring practical whole class lessons which are delivered by our music specialist and visiting instrument tutors.
We believe that opportunities for children to participate in music making activities play an important role to help children feel part of a community by developing both their own self confidence and respect for others.
“Music is about communication, creativity and cooperation, by studying music in schools, students have the opportunity to build on these skills, enrich their lives and experience the world from a new perspective.” - Bill Clinton
